While browsing Wikipedia today, I found a page detailing the life of Joybubbles, née Joe Engressia. He was the blind kid who taught Captain Crunch about phreaking and the joys of 2600Hz.

Not sure if it’s just my closeted world view, but his life story and the interview with him are just freaky.
